Aeta students get assistance

MABALACAT -- Scores of Aeta students in the first district of Pampanga benefited from the educational assistance program of Representative Carmelo "Tarzan" Lazatin and the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP).

Vice Mayor Prospero Lagman of Municipality of Mabalacat, who represented Congressman Lazatin, and NCIP Pampanga head Lydia Sunggod on January 25 led the distribution of educational assistance to the 53 students.

The student-beneficiaries are presently enrolled at Mabalacat Technical High School, Madapdap Resettlement High School, Sapang Bato High School in Angeles City, Angeles University Foundation, Asian Institute and Technology, Holy Angel University, Mary the Queen and Mabalacat College.

Lazatin said that education is one of his priorities since he first served as congressman in 1987.

"We must prioritize education to help eradicate poverty," Lazatin said.

The congressman lauded the NCIP for its assistance in the implementation of the program.
