DTI receives CSC excellence award

THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in Northern Mindanao garnered a bronze award from the Civil Service Commission (CSC) for its excellence in human resource management.

According to DTI, it has met the Program to Institutionalize Meritocracy and Excellence in Human Resource Management or the “(PRIME-HRM) Level 2 – Maturity Indicators in the Systems, Practices and Competencies of the four core HRM systems, namely, recruitment, selection and placement, performance management, learning and development, and rewards and recognition”.

DTI Secretary Ramon M. Lopez said that DTI-Northern Mindanao's “PRIME-HRM Bronze Award is a breakthrough achievement that manifests the department’s excellence in delivering output to the highest quality standards and reflects its continuous effort to level-up the Human Resource strategy.”

The CSC said DTI-10, being a PRIME-HRM Bronze Awardee, shall maintain the status under Level 2 and continue to improve on its HRM systems to meet the indicators of the next higher level, comply with the 2017 Omnibus Rules on Appointments and other Human Resource Actions and other Civil Service Law and rules in the issuance of appointments and implementation of other HR actions, and partner with CSC in providing assistance to other agencies in the development or improvement of HRM systems.

Launched in 2012, the PRIME-HRM program is a mechanism to support the attainment of the Civil Service Commission vision of becoming a Center of Excellence for Human Resource and Organization Development.

PRIME-HRM aims to elevate public sector human resource management to a level of excellence through a process of assessment, assistance and recognition of HRM systems, competencies, and practices using HRM maturity level indicators that are at par with global HRM standards.
