Dining at EJ’s in Mintal

FOR southern Dabawenyos, feasting on a good meal does not have to take miles away from home and get clogged in traffic in the highways of downtown Davao.

“We are very proud to say that this type of restaurant is first here in Mintal especially that it caters to students and their families,” Elaine Joy Yap-Lahora, EJ’s Café and Bar owner said in an interview on Saturday, July 28.

EJ’s Cafe and Bar in Mintal, Davao City is first of its kind in the barangay since 2016, offering Dabawenyos Filipino classic dishes with EJ’s signature specialties like Barbeque tender ribs grill and the newest addition to the sweet menu for pastries, ube cheesecake.

According to Lahora the place is known to be the students’ go-to food hub after a long exhausting day in school.

Lahora added that even though the restaurant offers Filipino food, Ej’s managed to add up new twists in serving Filipino classic dishes

“People from Mintal like Filipino food that’s why we retained serving Filipino food, but we tried changing and adding a twist to the common dishes, like EJ’s very own Pochero with tomato sauce. The usual Pochero has bananas, vegetables, and the like. But for EJ’s pochero I added a certain twist that Dabawenyo shoud try,” she said.

According to Lahora, EJ’s is also known for its signature dish Grilled Chili and Peppered Pork.

EJ’s also offers a cozy and relaxing ambiance through the pastel-colored walls which will please customer’s eyes when they enter the restaurant. Also the place offers a free WI-Fi range for its customers, a good place for students to conduct their research while having a delightful meal Lahora added.

Lahora said even with the growing competition in Mintal for restaurants like theirs, she is confident that EJ had already made its name in offering scrumptious meals.

“We also tried to consider the community in putting up the business. We also wanted to satisfy our customers that’s why we made sure that with the servings we have, Dabawenyos in Mintal don’t have to regret in buying our meal. When you go to EJ’s you will be satisfied with what you eat at a right price,” Lahora said.

EJ’s Cafe and Bar is located at Davao-Bukidnon Highway and is open from Mondays to Saturdays at 10:00 a.m to 10:00 p.m.
