THE Big Bad Wolf book sale has swept Cebu off its feet and has now gone to other countries. Celebrating the biggest book sale that has ever happened in Cebu, let’s check out some of the haul and listen to the experiences of these Cebuanos.
“Some of these titles have been on my book list for a long time now and being able to buy five of them for the price of one in a bookstore was such a rush! I don’t know if other readers felt the same, but that’s what it was like for me. I bought books of authors I really like, books I’ve heard are really good from recommendations of friends and new titles that piqued my interest. I went to Big Bad Wolf five times. Got four books from the first to the fourth visit. The fifth time I went, I was convinced I wasn’t getting anything more. But then they restocked and all my favorite authors suddenly popped up and I couldn’t resist getting a few more titles.”

I’m a big believer in books as a tool for empowerment and so, most of the books I got were about improving myself, from public speaking to strategic thinking. What I enjoyed about visiting Big Bad Wolf was that you could see how books unite people. You saw all these people from all walks of life searching for books together and there was something comforting about the thought that everyone went out there and wanted to get books for their improvement or even for their leisure. Ultimately, nothing is lost from a person that spends their time reading.”

“‘It’s a Disneyland of books,’ as the Big Bad Wolf organizers put it. For the past 10 days, every visit was a different experience as we found new titles every time we dropped by the Big Bad Wolf book sale. Our haul for the entire duration consists of our favorite authors, a couple of biographies, a number of music books, some about history, a few to inspire, and a selection for our kids because although Google is helpful, we also want the boys to discover the world through real pages of a book.”
