Drug raps filed vs 7 persons

DRUG charges were separately filed Monday, July 30, against seven persons who were arrested for illegal drugs over the weekend.

Superintendent Noel Polines, chief of Silay City Police Station, said charges for violation of Sections 11 or possession of illegal drugs and 12 or illegal possession of drug paraphernalia of Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 were filed against target-listed Sammy Aguirre; his son Alson, a level-three high-value target; his wife Alma, a newly identified drug personality; Alson’s partner, Rodjilyn Pelota, a drug surrenderee; and the family’s courier, Bryan Serano, a newly identified drug suspect.

On July 28, the City Police, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), raided Aguirre’s house in Barangay Rizal, Silay City, but only three persons were arrested after target subjects Sammy and Alson managed to escape.

Authorities recovered from them 15 sachets of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) worth P510,000, sling bag, P249,400 in cash, deposit slips, flash drive, drug paraphernalia, a motorcycle key, digital camera, tablet, and several cellular phones.

Polines said additional charges for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition were also filed against Sammy after authorities recovered from his bedroom a .45 caliber with five magazines, seven live ammunition, and 32 fired bullets of .9mm caliber, holster, and two handcuffs.

Polines said another criminal complaint will be filed by the City Environment and Natural Resources against Sammy for illegally keeping a Brahman kite locally known as “dapay” at his compound.

Alson is an alleged big supplier of illegal drugs in the city and neighboring localities E.B. Magalona, and Victorias City, and also an alleged trusted man of Silay City’s high-value target Michael Divinagracia, who remains at large.

Meanwhile, Inspector Adrian James Albaytar, assistant team leader of City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), said charges for sale and illegal possession of dangerous drugs were filed against Andresito Palabrica Jr., a level-two high-value target drug personality of Western Visayas and an alleged trusted man of the late suspected drug lord Richard Prevendido.

Palabrica was arrested in a drug bust at Barangay Estefania, Bacolod City last Saturday, together with his partner, Joan Villasor, a newly identified drug personality.

Both suspects, who are natives of Iloilo City, yielded 11 sachets of suspected shabu weighing 25 grams worth P300,000, the P1,000 marked money, two coin purses.

Albaytar said charges for illegal possession of dangerous drugs were also filed against Villasor.

They are now detained at Police Station 4.

Palabrica and Villasor transferred to Bacolod for a year already to expand their operations in Bacolod and Negros Occidental, following the death of Prevendido, leader of Prevendido Drug Group in Iloilo, in September 2017.
