11 pistols surrendered to Cordillera police

AT LEAST 10 firearms were confiscated during the conduct of “Oplan Katok” in Baguio City, Abra, and Apayao by the Police Regional Offices–Cordillera (PRO-COR).

On July 24, 2018, personnel of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) Station 8 conducted an operation in San Vicente, Kennon Road at the residence of Roland Tacba Padsingan which led to the voluntary surrender of a caliber .45 pistol bearing serial no. MO2387.

In Abra, nine firearms were recovered in a two day operation starting on July 27 at Barangay Poblacion Luba which resulted in the surrender of one caliber .38 revolver without markings by Jhonson Buenagua, barangay kagawad and resident of Sitio Bangcagan, Barangay Poblacion.

On the same day, former village chief Dario Dioayan Kilong-olao, Boliney, Abra voluntarily surrendered one revolver cal .38 without serial number.

According to police report, the firearm was handed to him by one of his constituents.

Primitiva Madriaga, village chief of San Diego, Pidigan, Abra turned over one caliber .22 homemade gun without serial number after a concerned citizen turned over pistol.

Barangay Chairman Claro Bugawit from Poblacion, Malibcong, Abra also turned over one caliber .38 revolver with serial number 695570 and without ammunition to Malibcong police.

During a dialogue with residents of Barangay Dugong, Bucay, Abra, the Bucay MPS recovered one caliber .22 revolver bearing serial number 47434 without ammunition from Brgy. Captain Nicasio Berroy Benabese.

In Barangay Lusuac, Peñarrubia, Abra, police also recovered one unlicensed gauge 12 shotgun without ammunition and markings turned over by Adolfo Cabarubias.

In Barangay Colabaoan, San Juan, Abra, Onofre Gumidam Baga, village chief of Colabaoan, and bantay bayan chief Gilbert Leones Wright voluntarily surrendered a caliber .22 revolver without serial number, markings and ammunition.

On July 28, personnel of Licuan-Baay police led by Inspector Van Kimber Kitong conducted barangay visitation and pulong-pulong at Sitio Baquero, Brgy. Nalbuan.

During the engagement with the local residents, Barangay Kagawad Indra Queza, voluntary surrendered one rifle grenade with markings M-ISC-AVA-0066-89.

In Apayao Province, Manny Biggayan, barangay chairman of Poblacion East, Flora together with his constituents surrendered one homemade 12-gauge firearm to Flora police.
