Exporters urged to join consultation on free trade agreements

THE Bureau of International Trade Relations (BITR) and the Department of Trade and Industry-Cebu is inviting design-driven industries (such as interior, architecture, fashion, furniture, furnishing, jewelry, handicraft, fashion accessories and decors); food (fresh and dried fruits, coconut products, seafood, sugar, cacao, chocolates, beverage and agricultural products such as banana, ginger and chili); industrial (solar panel, semiconductors and electronic), aerospace, cosmetics and those engaged in other export industries and sectors to the One Country One Voice (OCOV) consultation on the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) Schemes and Preferential Trade/Free Trade Agreements (PTAs/FTAs).

The event will be held on Aug. 8 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Harolds Hotel Cebu City.

The consultation will feature updates on the GSP schemes on the United States, Canada and Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and possible PTAs/FTAs with South Korea, Chile, Pakistan and Turkey. This will give the stakeholders a chance to participate in the trade policy formulation.
