Viray: She touched lives

THE couple, Tony and Lorna are grieving. They lost a valuable companion. She was fourteen years old. She died of an ailment.

The creature is a loyal ally. She is there when they were happy. She jumped with joy in the birthday celebrations of the couple. She is there when they were lonely. She mourned the loss of Lorna’s mother.

She showered them with love and attention. She loved them unconditionally, day in and day out. She is very happy in their company. She is a homebody but she enjoys going to activities as long as she was with her housemates.

Tony and Lorna have two daughters Aleth and Yvette and both of them welcome her with open arms. She was white complexioned. She was adopted in the United States. When Aleth and Yvette left to start their own family, she filled a void in the home. She was jolly. She had no moods. She screamed with joy every time she was with the couple.

When Tony and Lorna reached retirement age, they decided to return to the Philippines for good. She willingly endorsed their decision. She had her own transport and visa. Soon, she adapted to the living conditions in the Philippines. She ate Filipino foods although she remained carnivorous.

She lived a sedentary life in our own country. She only got out of the house when her kin were with her. She was a spinster.

She has no problem. She was there when she was needed. She lived with her means. But time flies and respects no one.

She became aged at 13. She lost her eye sight. She was beginning to feel weak, she lost her vigor and vibrancy.

Then on a fateful day, on June 26, 2018, she breathed her last.

Tony and Lorna prayed for her response. Asia was laid to rest. She joined her creator. She lived a fulfilled, useful life.

Tony says:

Asia, thank you for the love that I will never experience even in my dreams.

I love you. My heart died with you. Love, Dad.

She was a pet, a special dog. She touched many lives and she is remembered.
