THE Davao City Police Office bagged two awards as the Best City Police Office and the Best Mobile Force of the Year 2017 for its Administrative and Operational Accomplishments.

DCPO is one of the 10 Unit Awardees for the 117th Police Service Anniversary Celebration. The National Awards will be given during the 117 PNP Service Anniversary Celebration at the National Headquarters, Philippine National Police, Camp Crame, Quezon City to be awarded by President Rodrigo R. Duterte.

“Hail to Davao City Police Office for having been adjudged as the Best City Police Office and the Best City Mobile Force Company for 2017 operational and administrative accomplishments- National Awardee in line with the celebration of 117th PNP Service Anniversary,” DCPO spokesperson Police Senior Inspector Ma. Teresita Gaspan.

She added, “Congratulations for a well-deserved recognition with distinctions on higher echelon. Our hard work has paid off! To God be all the glory.”

Meanwhile, Davao City Councilor and chairperson of the Committee on Public

Safety Maria Belen Acosta lauded the achievement of the DCPO for being recognized as one of the best police units across the country.

“Congratulations and keep up the good work. We know that Davao City Police Office is the best among the best,” Acosta said.

DCPO, through the leadership of DCPO director Alexander Tagum, have implemented several anti-criminality initiatives such as the Oplan Integrated Revitalized Operation of Neighborhood-Watch for the Mega City (Iron City) launched last year. It is an upgraded integrated police patrol system aimed at making the city safer.

This implementation led to the decrease of crime incidence in the city because of high police visibility especially in critical areas.

Also earlier, during the random mandatory drug testing, none of the DCPO personnel were found positive for using illegal substance.
