PRO-Davao Region receives 25 patrol cars

THE Police Regional Office (PRO)-Davao Region received on Thursday, August 2, 2018, a total of 25 patrol car units from the Philippine National Police (PNP) headquarters that will boost the operational capability of the police in Davao region.

Police Chief Superintendent Manuel Gaerlan, PRO-Davao regional director, thanked the PNP leadership for the additional patrol cars.

“These newly-donated patrol cars would help the police to be more competent to respond, and give more training to our personnel and other constituents,” Gaerlan said.

He added that these vehicles aim to respond quickly to incidents, to increase police visibility and to prevent crimes.

Based on the data, the patrol car units will be distributed to different police units.

The Davao del Norte Provincial Police Office (DNPPO) will receive 10 patrol cars while Davao Oriental will have nine, Davao Occidental with two and one each for Compostela Valley, Davao Del Sur, PRO 11 regional headquarters, and to the Davao City Police Office.

Special Assistant to the President Secretary Christopher “Bong” Go, whose message was delivered by Undersecretary Nelson Suarez, said the vehicles were in line with President Rodrigo Roa Duterte's Philippine Development Plan (PDP) for 2017-2022.

This was also the fulfillment of the president's promise to support the war on drugs.

In line with the President's PDP, a new multi-purpose “Bagani” Hall was installed at the PRO 11. Gaerlan noted that it is a token of gratitude to the police officers for their time and dedication.

Meanwhile, the Regional Data Bank Archiving System Enhancement was also launched during the event. (Abigail Joyce C. Cahiwat, MSU- Marawi intern/with JCR)
