MANILA -- Butil party-list Representative Leonila Chavez, 75, passed away Thursday morning due to stroke.
She was declared dead at 3 a.m. by attending physicians in The Medical City.
The militant lawmaker has been in a state of comatose since January 19, according to her staff Cynthia Albina.
The House of Representatives is set to hold a necrological service for the deceased colleague on Tuesday, February 2.
After which, her remains will be brought to her hometown Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija.
