A COUPLE and eight others were arrested for sale and illegal possession of dangerous drugs in separate operations in Negros Occidental in the past three days.
In Bacolod City, Jenelyn Dela Cruz and her partner Jeffel Palis were arrested in a drug bust at Barangay 27 Sunday night, August 5.
Dela Cruz is a newly-identified drug suspect.
Police seized from them seven sachets of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) weighing 10 grams amounting to P120,000, the P1,000 marked money, and coin purse.
Both suspects are detained at Police Station 4.
Also arrested in Barangay 1, Cadiz City was Ven John Verdeflor, 37, of Barangay Tinampaan after he yielded four sachets of suspected shabu, the P500 marked money, cellular phone, and a motorcycle.
In Bago City, the third top drug personality in the city was arrested in a drug raid at Purok Pag-unlad, Barangay Maao on Saturday, August 4.
Police identified the suspect as drug surrenderer Alberto Montaño, 57, of Barangay Binubuhan.
Police recovered from him three sachets of suspected shabu worth P1,500, lighter, cellular phone, the P200 marked money, and P3,010 in cash.
In Valladolid town, Jerome Salgado, 27, of Barangay Poblacion was collared in a drug bust in the said village on Saturday. He is a newly identified drug personality.
Police confiscated from him three sachets of suspected shabu, and the P500 marked money.
In Escalante City, Lloyd Sabordo, 36, of Barangay Langub Proper was arrested in a drug bust on the same day at Barangay Udtongan after police seized from them two sachets of suspected shabu amounting to P900, the P200 marked money and a motorcycle.
In Toboso town, newly-identified drug suspect Roger Alcuizar, 50, of Barangay Poblacion was arrested in the said village on Friday, August 4, after he sold a shabu to a police agent for P500.
Police seized from him 14 sachets of suspected shabu weighing 1.61 grams worth P8,500, the P500 marked money and a small box.
In Bacolod City, Ricarte Camento, 58, of Barangay Singcang-Airport was arrested in a drug bust at the said village last Saturday while his brother Rodelio, 40, managed to escape.
Police recovered from Ricarte three sachets of suspected shabu worth P5,000, the P300 marked money, P420 in cash, a homemade pin gun, a hand grenade, and drug paraphernalia.
Ricarte is detained at Police Station 8.
Also arrested in the city yesterday was Mark Rebosana, 28, of the said village, a newly identified drug suspect.
Rebosana yielded two sachets of suspected shabu worth P1,500, and the P500 marked money.
He is detained at Police Station 9.
Still in the city, Reggie Cruz, 24, of Murcia town was arrested Sunday at Barangay 16 after he was caught in possession of three sachets of suspected shabu while riding on his motorcycle.
