Marañon: Animal Hub probe out soon

NEGROS Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. assured the public Tuesday, August 7, that the result of the investigation on the controversial Animal Hub in the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City will soon come out.

"Just wait because I am thoroughly studying the result of the investigation that was submitted by the Investigating Team and that I am very careful about it," said the governor.

He said he does not want speculations and accusations that there will be a whitewash on the matter.

"This is not an easy decision to make. Please do not preempt the decision. It will come out soon," he added.

The Animal Hub, which was constructed with no building permit and did not go through the bidding process, is almost 80 percent completed.

The supplier identified as Eva Resoor has assumed responsibility for the construction without the approval of any Capitol official.

In another development, Marañon said he has not yet received an invitation to join Hugpong Ng Pagbabago, a regional political party of Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, daughter of President Rodrigo Duterte.

Marañon, who is open to the new party, said that if ever there will be an invitation, he will submit it to the members of United Negros Alliance (Unega) so that they would decide as a group on the matter.

He also emphasized that Unega is still open to a possible merger with Love Negros headed by Third District Representative Alfredo Benitez and Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson.

The governor said although he has been communicating with Benitez, the formal merger talks have not yet started.
