Police raid Cavite 'shabu tiangge'; 3 killed

THREE drug suspects were killed while 26 others were arrested in a raid on Tuesday, August 7, in an alleged “shabu tiangge” in Bacoor, Cavite.

Cavite police provincial director William Segun said joint elements of Bacoor Drug Enforcement Unit and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Cavite conducted simultaneous implementation of six search warrants in several houses in Barangay Alima and Sineguelasan at about 2:30 p.m. on August 7.

Segun said the raid resulted in an armed confrontation between the law enforcers and the suspected drug personalities in the area which led to the killing of Harries Iso, Diowie Concepcion and a certain alias Badong.

Segun said the slain suspects were all members of the “Iso drug group” operating in Bacoor, Cavite. The group is also allegedly involved in various robbery hold-up incidents in the area.

“The area where the raids occurred is reportedly known for the proliferation of illegal drugs locally known as Shabu Tiangge. The neutralization of the members of the group made a great impact to the community who considered the said group as a menace to the society,” Segun said.

Recovered pieces of evidence were two caliber 45 pistols, two caliber 38 revolvers, one caliber 22 revolver and suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride weighing more or less 150 grams with an estimated street value of P1,020,00 and other illegal drug paraphernalia.

The search warrants were issued Agripino Morga, executive judge of Regional Trial Court, for violation of Republic Act 9165 also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (SunStar Philippines)
