Sa 17 ka tuig niya sa broadcast industry, usa si Sumangil sa most senior reporters sa GMA.
Beterano sab siya sa pag-cover og police beat.
Isip bag-ong anchor sa QRT si Sumangil nagkanayon: “We hope to give our viewers more quality stories produced through the efforts of the people in front and behind the camera.”
Nakadawat na sab og mga pag-ila si Sumangil, diin siya ang Best Field Reporter sa 2018 U.P. Gandingan Awards.
Niadtong 2014, gihatagan siya sa Outstanding TV News Reporter sa Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) ug usa sab siya sa nakadawat sa Gawad Justice Felix Angelo Award sa Philippine College of Criminology Alumni Association, Inc.
