Vice guy says vehicle donation is governor’s call

NEGROS Occidental Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said Wednesday, August 8, that it's Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr.'s call to donate the service vehicle of former Board Member Annabelle Bermudo to the Liga Ng Mga Barangay of La Carlota City which is also headed by Bermudo.

Bermudo, who is a member of United Negros Alliance (Unega), lost the Provincial Liga Ng Mga Barangay presidency to Juvy Pepillo who is a member of Love Negros of Victorias City who now sits as a member of the Provincial Board.

First District Board Member Rommel Debulgado questioned during the regular session of the Provincial Board (PB) on Wednesday, August 8, why the service vehicle, a Nissan Calibre pick-up, is given to Bermudo when it should be used by Pepillo who replaced her.

Despite the question, the PB approved the donation of the vehicle to La Carlota City LnB and that Debulgado asked the August body to provide Pepillo a service vehicle.

Lacson said that Pepillo will be provided with service vehicle, not necessarily a brand new one, which she will use.

On the part of Bermudo, she clarified the donation was made after she asked the governor the vehicle for the La Carlota City LnB.

The donation, she said, was done before the provincial LnB election was held.

She said that she is thankful to the members of the SP for approving the donation.(TDE/SunStar Bacolod)
