La Trinidad hailed best PH police station

THE La Trinidad Municipal Police Station (LTMPS) in Benguet spearheaded by Chief Inspector Benson Macli-ing was recently hailed as best municipal police station in the country.

During the 117th Police Service Anniversary celebration, President Rodrigo Duterte served as guest of honor and speaker assisted by Department of the Interior and Local Government Secretary Eduardo Año and Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Director General Oscar Albayalde led the recognition for the police on August 8 held at Camp Crame in Quezon City.

The celebration highlights the 28 police officers and units for their outstanding contributions in the government's fight against corruption, criminality, erring police personnel and trade of illegal drugs.

“Together with the effort of the police and community of La Trinidad, we have achieved those awards which show the full cooperation within the police and community with the support of the local government unit,” Macli-ing said.

The chief of police added the neighborhood watch program seeks to continue in order to prevent crime and maintain the peace and order in the calley. The neighborhood watch is a community partnership where neighbors protect and watch each other's house and immediately reports the same to the LTMPS and to the barangay.

Valley police recorded a 30.13 percent decrease of crime volume in the municipality from January to June this year including vehicular traffic accident by 26.93 percent.

Last month, the valley police was also recipient of the outstanding municipal police station in the Cordillera during the 23rd Police Community Relations Month celebration at the Camp Bado Dangwa in La Trinidad.

The annual police service anniversary is in commemoration of the joint founding anniversaries of the Insular Constabulary established in 1901 and the Integrated National Police organized in 1975 both forerunner organizations of the PNP.

In the event, PO3 Jean Pacia from the Police Regional Office-Cordillera was also lauded as best Junior Police Non-Commissioned Officer for Administration.
