It’s a given that a beauty queen is star material. Many have tried their hand at acting but only a few have succeeded: Gloria Diaz, Alice Dixson, Princess Lara Quigaman, Charo Santos, Elizabeth Oropesa, Pia Wurtzbach and a few others.
The latest to try her mettle in acting is Bb. Pilipinas Universe 2016 Maxine Medina. She stars in “Pinay Beauty (She’s No White)” along with Edgar Allan Guzman, Janus del Prado and Cebuana Chai Fonacier.
The team will visit Cebu to promote the movie on Sunday, in a mall show at Robinsons Galleria at 4 p.m.

Hashtag Nico Natividad saying he wished he could have bonded with his father in his younger years struck a chord in my heart. His dad worked for 32 years in Japan, which eventually led to the separation of his parents. I admired Nico for not being bitter.

JC Santos and Bela Padilla reunite in “The Day After Valentine’s,” which is also among the movies in the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino. The festival will run from Aug. 15 to 22.
