A TOTAL OF fifteen photographers from Davao vied for a first-of-its-kind competition launched by Aeon Luxe Properties Inc. from July 23 to 25 as a pre-Kadayawan activity. This is called the #ExperienceAeonTowersDvo Photography Contest.

These shutterbugs accepted the challenge of taking cityscape panoramic images of Davao from the 32nd floor of Aeon Towers, the first tallest building in Mindanao.

Starting off with an orientation for guidelines and safety with the safety officer and the marketing department officers in the Aeon Towers Showroom, the photographers were strictly accompanied up the top floor so that they can capture creative images from sunrise to sundown.

Winners of the contest were announced on August 3, 2018 at the Showroom, awarded with cash prizes and tokens while non-winners were given certificates of appreciation and tokens as well. Their photos are on display at the lobby for the whole month.

Top prize went to Ronald Ancheta for his "Blue hour view in my window", while second place went to Reynard Afable for "Gift of Life Mt. Apo". Jorge Golle’s "Life is Here" took third place.

Awarding ceremony was presided over by Jillian Athena Bravo who organized this competition together with Aeon Luxe Vice President for Marketing Terre Camarines. The three judges were Ms. Camarines, veteran photojournalist Rene Lumawag, and yours truly. I also had the privilege of capturing my panoramic shots from the top floor.

Aeon Towers is a 33-storey mixed-use flagship project of Aeon Luxe Properties, Inc.-- a premier property development company through its parent company FTC Group of Companies. It is known to be the first tallest in Mindanao with a height of 103.5 meters that features a 360 degree view of Davao City. The building will feature an infinity pool on its 33rd floor, inspired by Singapore's Marina Bay Sands SkyPark. A looming iconic structure at the heart of the city's business district, Aeon Towers will soon rise completely with a residential, hotel, serviced apartment and commercial components that will give a boost to the city of Davao.

The company president, Mr. Ian Y. Cruz, aims to redefine the condominium living experience in the entire Mindanao with Aeon Towers and its second coming project Aeon Bleu, an inland resort condominium in a mixed-use community.

The photo contest’s main goal is not only to get the tops shots literally, but to promote Davao’s development and progress in the economic and tourism phases through its ever changing landscapes.
