Limlingan: Two new ex-officio members of the SP

BY REASON of the recent Synchronized Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections last May, we now have two new Sangguniang Panlalawigan officials in the person of Apalit Association of Barangay Council President and the Liga ng mga Barangay Pampanga Chapter president Renato "Gabby" Mutuc Lopez and Magalang SK president and the Pampanga SK president in the person of Gabriel Moshe Lacson, son of former mayor of the said town Daniel "Joey" Lacson.

The two, although new to provincial legislation, are not new to public service since prior to their foray in politics, have been helping their cabalens in their various needs. it seems that helping others run in their blood.

Kap Gabby is a graduate of civil engineering and is the chief executive of barangay Balucuc of the said town. His priority now is not only his barangay but also the barangays of the province in terms of public services and support to the programs, projects and activities of the more than 5oo barangays in Pampanga.

Moshe on the other hand, may be seen as a young breed of public servant who has the training of his family and his active involvement in community works. He is a consistent honor student since his elementary days and is now studying medicine to pursue his dream of helping the sick.

As the president of Pampanga's youth, he has a lot to do on youth affairs including sports, educational and other learning activities. He is likewise set to initiate a profiling system of all Sangguniang Kabataan chapters in the province for him to better know the people he leads as he vows to strengthen youth development during his stint.

In addition, he expressed support to the anti-illegal drugs campaign of the provincial government headed by Pampanga Governor Lilia Pineda and Vice-Governor Dennis Pineda.

As a matter of fact, a Sangguniang Kabataan Assembly and Summit on Disaster Resilience was held last August 2, 2018 at the Bren Guiao Convention Center. It was attended by all SK officials in the whole province and had Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Director General Aaron Aquino as the guest of honor and speaker.

The activity included Disaster Management for SK Officials, Skills Training Program for the Youth and Duties, Responsibilities and Functions of SK officials as topics. During the said convergence of youth officials, Vice-Governor Pineda urged the participants to stay away from drugs and help the national and local governments’ efforts against illegal drug activities.

With the retirement of Sangguniang Panlalawigan Secretary Luis "Louie" Rivera a couple of years ago, his former office is now headed by Mam Maria Theresa P. Guevarra. A graduate of the University of the Philippines, she is now an expert in legislative staff works in support to the honorable members of the Sanggunian.

Mam Tere as fondly called, is very cordial and friendly to all the visitors of their office. She is very accommodating and very fitting to her job.
