Pineda: What Toni Gonzaga learned in Eat Bulaga

EAT Bulaga, the longest running noontime show is on its 40th year in the business. One of their former hosts is Toni Gonzaga. The host/actress recalls the time she was still one of the hosts.

"Natutunan ko dati sa Eat Bulaga, ang hosting daw is presenting your personality and who you are to the world," she said.

Toni recently appeared in the latest vlog entry of her sister Alex Gonzaga in order to read harsh comments about them.

A netizen with the handle @hiponiahypoe wrote: "sorry i dont like alex gonzaga and her hosting skills"

Alex asked her older sister to defend her against the basher. Toni admitted, "Honestly, mas mabilis ang utak ni Alex sa akin, mas witty siya, at mas nakakatawa siya."

Toni then disclosed, "Natutunan ko dati sa Eat Bulaga, ang hosting daw is presenting your personality and who you are to the world. It's presenting who you are, with conviction na dini-deliver mo yung what is asked of you...to tell your audience."

Toni turned to her sister Alex and reminded her, "Kung naiinis siya sa 'yo, ibig sabihin, naiinis siya sa personality na pinapakita mo sa TV."

Toni was a co-host of Eat Bulaga for three years. In 2005, she transferred to ABS-CBN where she tried acting. Along with Mariel Rodriguez and Bianca Gonzalez, Toni became one of the main hosts of Pinoy Big Brother. She also hosted several Kapamilya reality programs and talk shows.

Ria Atayde is slowly making waves in the local showbiz industry. Ria is the daughter of veteran actress Sylvia Sanchez.

In a recent talk she talked about her blossoming showbiz career: "I feel blessed, tito. Kasi magaganda ang mga roles na napupunta sa akin.”

Being an Atayde, how could she possibly portray a role that would require her to shoot in the slums?

"Well, di naman po madali yon. But then, every role na napupunta sa akin, I just don't portray it. I also observe people from there.Kailangan pagaralan din ang role.”

Has she sought the help of her mom in terms of acting is concerned?

"Madalas, po. Kasi alam ko namang acting is her life. She gives me advices and pointers. But then, she also gives me the freedom to depict the role I'm assigned to. Meaning, she would suggest but in the end yung style ko pa rin ang masusunod.”

Does she have any dream role?

"Yes, tito! I would love to do action films. Kasi walang masyadong nag-aaksiyon sa mga artista ngayon especially sa mga babae. So, if ever, siguro mas maipapakita yung difference ko in terms of acting is concerned.”

Has beauty contests ever come into her mind?

"Well, before po may mga nagsa-suggest. Actually, nag-train din naman ako. Kaya lang it's not for me,e. Siguro mas magfo-focus ako sa mga bagay na mag-e-enjoy ako. Like acting, I think dito talaga ako mas magiging mahusay.”

She doesn't really have to work. She's the daughter of Sylvia and dad business man Art Atayde. And now that she's earning her own money how does she manage to spend them?

"I'm not really magastos,e. I only buy things I need. As of now, I invested some of my earnings. I already have a parlor in Pasig, And a derm clinic in Butuan City. My mom naman told us na hindi permanent ang kita sa showbiz, so dapat magipon habang may work.”

Currently Ria is busy taping for a teleserye and at the same time doing a movie.
