CONSTRUCTION company GlobalCrete Incorporated on Wednesday, August 8, distributed relief assistance to residents of flooded communities in Candaba town.

The company distributed 300 packs of relief goods, each containing one whole chicken, two kilos of pork and two kilos of rice, to residents of Barangay Sto. Rosario.

GlobalCrete owner and former Candaba mayor Rene Maglanque, who led distribution, said that the outreach activity is part of his company’s corporate social responsibility intended to aid its host communities, including Barangay Sto. Rosario.

Maglanque said that Barangay Sto. Rosario is one of the villages in the town which is usually devastated and becomes isolated from almost chest-deep of floods during the rainy season, making relief distribution harder for rescue and response teams.

“In the past years, we can only reach this barangay during relief operations via boat transfer. It is very fortunate for us now that Barangay Sto. Rosario did not experience the same after the recent typhoons. Nevertheless, GlobalCrete Inc. still felt the need to provide aid to our fellow Candabeños that is why we personally came and extend our assistance to them here,” he said.

Aside from the distribution of relief bags, Maglanque also took the opportunity to check on the situation of the residents here to see if he can extend other forms of assistance through the company’s monthly corporate social responsibility outreach activities.

Barangay Sto. Rosario chairman Domingo Paguinto, meanwhile, extended his gratitude to GlobalCrete Inc. for remembering their barangay and extending necessary assistance to his constituents.

“In behalf of my constituents, we extend our deepest gratitude to Engr. Maglanque for never forgetting us, especially during these times of calamity,” he said.

GlobalCrete is the mother company of GlobalCrete Builders, GlobalCrete Ready Mix, and GlobalMix Concrete.
