IF Daniel Craig despises being James Bond so much, he should be replaced, right? There are so many actors willing to drink that shaken—not stirred—martini. But according to a report from Esquire magazine, producers are leaning on Idris Elba taking on the role.
According to the report, the interest over the 45-year-old “Luther” actor started in 2014 yet.
Esquire quoted a report that states: “Director Antoine Fuqua revealed the details of a conversation with Bond producer Barbara Broccoli, in which she said ‘it is time’ for a non-white actor to take on the iconic role. Fuqua discussed who might be next in the running with Broccoli, who’s certain the progressive move ‘will happen eventually.’ ...Idris Elba (is) a reported frontrunner for the role.”
Elba immediately trended on Twitter yesterday with netizens weighing in on the report. Most of the netizens agree that Elba will be a good choice to take on the iconic role of James Bond, with a peppering of nayes.
