IT IS undeniable that when we talk about Davao, we cannot exclude the Durian in the narrative.
It is not just a delicacy, but a symbol of richness and resilience.
The spiky durian, also dubbed as the King of Fruits, is disliked by some for its unusual smell. But, when someone gets that perfect bite of the soft and milky meat of the fruit, the experience is out of this world.
It’s like you personally experience the love of the people of the Davao and the tranquility of its mountains.
Cultural diversity vividly resides in Davao, however, despite the differences, there are common points in which the community meet and celebrate its unity; the durian is one of these points. Its taste is enjoyed by many Dabawenyos, and even Filipinos, regardless of their origins and beliefs.
