Schwarzenegger in Manila on Feb. 7 (1:12 a.m.)

THE “Governator,” actor and California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is coming to Manila on Febuary 7.

This, to help the National Reconstruction Commission with rehabilitation efforts in areas damaged by Typhoons Ondoy (Ketsana) and Pepeng (Parma) last year.

Butch Meily, executive director of the Philippine Disaster Recovery Foundation, said Schwarzenegger will stay here for a week with a group of Filipino-Americans from California and will be accompanied by former California assembly speaker Willie Brown.

Meily said the “Governator” (a moniker based on Schwarzenegger’s role in the “Terminator” movie) will spend “a few days” with the PDRF to discuss their disaster recovery master plan. He is expected to have an audience with President Arroyo.

Meily said PDRF is in close contact with a member of the California governor’s delegation, a Filipino-American based in Washington D.C. who works on housing and urban development. (JMR/Sunnex)
