TO accommodate the influx of inquiries and requests in Mindanao, premier Apple reseller Power Mac Center has opened its first store in Cagayan de Oro City last Friday, August 10, in SM Downtown Premier.

The branch is one of the biggest stores all over the country in terms of area, product availability and demo units, according to Krisel Loreto, Power Mac Center marketing officer.

“The size and then the product availability, the demo units, it’s complete. Because our demo units here vary depending on the floor size of the store. But of course as with product availability it’s available,” Loreto said.

According to Loreto, they opened the store, which is located at the third level Cyberzone of SM Downtown Premier, in Cagayan de Oro as they noticed the influx of inquiries, orders, and requests from people in Mindanao despite having put up stores in Davao and Zamboanga.

“We don't want naman to risk the interest of the Filipino consumers with Apple just because we are not available in their area,” the marketing officer said.

“That's why slowly, as we grow as a company, we also wanted to expand geographically to different areas of the Philippines to accommodate and of course to serve the needs of the Filipino consumers in terms of technology,” she added.

Power Mac Center primarily resells Apple products such as their smartphones, iPods, iPads, Mac Book, headphones, among others; and accessories which are both from Apple and other tech brands.

“Actually, this is our last opening before we celebrate our anniversary kaya it’s pretty big. We had three openings, actually. Yesterday (in August 9) we opened two sites. Yung isa is sa (The first one is in) SM Uptown, we have our baby brand; it’s The Loop. It’s more on accessories for millennials,” Loreto said.

It was in the afternoon of the same day that Power Mac started its first ever service center in Cagayan de Oro City, which is located at the second level of Limketkai center.

“The ideal plan is to incorporate all in one location. But space availability does not permit so we decided for Downtown Premier, we'll just put a very big store. And then for Limetkai, since it’s just nearby, we’ll put a big service center. And then to accommodate the market at the Uptown area, we'll put another small brand,” Loreto said.

Power Mac is not just your ordinary Apple reseller. It is also authorized by Apple to provide trainings to IT (information technology) and engineering students, wherein they are to take an exam after classes.

“It’s the Apple authorized training provider. So basically the primary market will be students and IT, engineering professionals. So if they want to enrol in a course Apple-related, maybe OS or technical trouble-shooting, etc., so they could approach us and we will give classes to them,” Loreto said.

She added that they also offer diagnosis and repairs of customers’ devices through their service center in Limketkai, which is another thing that made them different from other Apple resellers.

Power Mac Center was first established back in 1994 and has been the first to distribute, resell Apple products in the Philippines.

“In terms of service, we are the first and the most frequently recognized Apple premium service provider,” Loreto said.
