Supporting local tourism

THE Kadayawan Festival officially began on August 10, 2018 at the Magsaysay Park with Sugang Sinugdanan and the Pag-abli sa Kadayawan.

"I am inviting all Dabawenyos to get out and celebrate Kadayawan!" said Davao City Mayor Sara Z. Duterte-Carpio during the opening ceremonies.

This week, we can expect a long weekend beginning on August 17. Some of you might even be planning out of town trips right now with your friends or family.

However, how about spend the long weekend in Davao City and enjoy what the Kadayawan Festival has to offer?

Get out of your homes and get to know the 11 tribes up close and personal at the Kadayawan Village at the Magsaysay Park. The village also has delicious delicacies prepared by the tribes for visitors to try.

If we want our friends or online followers, who are not from Davao City, to know what the Kadayawan Festival, let us get out and celebrate the festival with fellow Dabawenyos.

Aside from the loads of activities during the Kadayawan Festival, you and your family can also visit the local tourist sites. Davao City alone has a lot to offer, whether it is the cool weather of Marilog and Eden or the unique D' Bone Collector Museum.

Think of it as your way of supporting the local tourism industry of Davao City. The first people who should promote and patronize the city's top tourist spots should be us Dabawenyos.

We know for sure that the tourism players here are doing their best to ensure that all tourist spots are maintained well and taken care of properly. Thus, it is just right for us to give our all-out support to them.

If we are not able to support or promote our local tourist sites or festivals, then how can we invite more people to come and visit Davao City?
