DCPO out to keep best police office

THE Davao City Police Office (DCPO) will not lower its guards down and will instead continue to live up to the Best Police Office award it received recently.

DCPO director Police Senior Superintendent Alexander Tagum yesterday presented during the flag-raising ceremony the award that they received during the 117th Police Service Anniversary at the Philippine National Police (PNP) headquarters at Camp Crame, Quezon City last August 8 personally handed by President Rodrigo Duterte.

“This recognition should serve as a challenge. We must maintain this and we should serve as example to other police officers serving in the Philippine National Police and that DCPO deserves to be the Best City Police in the country,” Tagum said in an interview.

He also shared the award with other law enforcement agencies in the city whom they have worked with in keeping the city safe and secured including the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Maritime Group and among others.

The award recognized the outstanding discipline and efforts practiced by policemen to ensure that there shall be no untoward incidents that will happen in the city.

He also thanked Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio for her support that ledd to the realization of their programs and initiatives.

Based on the data, in 2017, there was a 28.44 percent decrease of the crime volume as compared to the previous year.
