PAUL Jumamil ruled the Open division of the 2018 Mt. Mayon Triathlon in Legazpi City last Sunday, one week after placing fourth in the Regent Aguila Ironman 70.3 Asia-Pacific Championship in Cebu. Jumamil of Tri SND Barracuda finished the 1.5-kilometer swim, 40K bike and 10K run in 2 hours, 13 minutes and 58 seconds en route to winning the men’s Open division crown. Ronald Molit of Fit PH crossed the finish line at 2:17:30 to take second place and Benjamin Rana came in third at 2:17:30. The Bohol-native Jumamil came out of the water at 25:10 and was about 50 seconds behind early leader Molit. Jumamil took the lead in the bike segment with the fastest time split at 1:01:38. He finished the run at 44:29. Cebu’s Joseph Miller and John Philip Duenas finished at sixth and seventh place with times of 2:31:06 and 2:31:08, respectively. (RSC)
