THE University of Cebu Webmasters settled for third place after beating the National University Bulldogs, 75-69, Sunday in the 2018 SBP-XI-Kadayawan Invitational basketball tournament played in the Davao City Recreation Center.
Frederick Elombi led the way for the Webmasters with 22 points backed by John Jabello’s 12 as they took an early 45-35 lead and never looked back.
The win gave the Raul “Yayoy” Alcoseba-coached squad the P40,000 cash prize for third place in the four-day league, part of the annual Kadayawan sports festivities.
Issa Gaye led the Bulldogs with 14 points in a losing effort.
On the other hand, team Davao Go-Duterte emerged as this year’s champs after beating the UST Growling Tigers in the Finals, 94-90 to pocket the P100,000 as cash prize.
Leandry Sanjo led Davao Go-Duterte with 22 points while James Linares added 16.
Tiger Kenneth Zamora had 28 in a losing effort. (PR)
