Tujan: Jed Madela launches Davao Composition

AWARD-WINNING singer Jed Madela sang his newest single “Di Matitinag” for the first time at the Blue Jacket Ceremony and send-off party of WCOPA (World Championships of Performing Arts) Team Philippines 2018 at Resorts World to inspire delegates competing for the world-renowned talent search.

The song is penned by Davao’s pride musician/composer, Jeremy Sarmiento and arranged by Jonathan “Cacho” Ferrero. Together with them in creating the masterpiece were Paolo Sisi (Bass), Raffy Donato (Drums), and Josel Jimenez (Guitar).

Jeremy Sarmiento who was the WCOPA talent scout from 2015 to 2017 is succeeded by Ms. Anna Quitoriano is the newest WCOPA scout for this 2018.

“I made this song, with the WCPA contestants as my inspiration. Most of the contestants have been joining singing contests since they were kids and somehow this song was meant to be an inspiration for them not to give up on their dreams,” said Sarmiento.

Jed Madela, who first heard the song from the Muzic’s Kool album, “Kanta-Kuwento” interpreted by Julia Mica Serad, admitted having fallen in love with the song the moment he heard the charging tempo and jaunty, teasing lyrics.

The release of “Di Matitinag” commenced Jed Madela’s 15th year in the music industry. “A very timely song with a powerful message that everyone needs to hear,” Madela said.

Jed Madela’s newest single is available on iTunes, Spotify and Amazon music under Star Music Records. Jed will also highlight his 15th year with a big production concert on November 16, 2018, titled Jed Madela XV Higher than Higher at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
