AN OFFICIAL of the Bureau of Immigration (BI) at the Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) yesterday said they have no record that Cebuano businessman Peter Go Lim has left the country.

The source who requested anonymity said that Lim’s last record was his arrival at MCIA in June 2017 from Hong Kong.

The source added that BI records showed more than 100 Peter Lims in the entire country. One named Peter Go Lim, a Cebuano, has no record of travel abroad.

Last Tuesday, the Makati City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 55 issued a warrant of arrest after the justice department indicted the Cebuano businessman as well as self-confessed drug lord Rolan “Kerwin” Espinosa for conspiring to commit illegal drug trading.

A man who claimed to be a security guard of Lim’s Hilton Motors told Sunstar Cebu over the phone that his employer had not been reporting to the office for weeks now.

Cebu City Police Office Director Royina Garma said, though, that they will arest Lim, who was tagged as a drug lord in Central Visayas by President Rodrigo Duterte in July 2016.

“If there’s a warrant, we’ll serve. Any police officer can serve a warrant...Kung ako naglalakad papuntang simbahan nasalubong si Peter Lim, puwede ko i-serve yan,” Garma said.

The court ordered Mabolo Police Station and “any officer of the law” to arrest Lim in Cebu City “without necessary delay.” Lim, the warrant showed, lives in Barangay Mabolo.

Police were required to present Lim to the court within 10 days, or to report to the court and explain if they fail to arrest the businessman.

An alias warrant of arrest will be issued, which has no expiration date. (EOB, KAL)
