AN ALLEGED medicine and money courier of the New People's Army (NPA) rebels was arrested by lawmen in Zamboanga del Norte, a top police official said Thursday, August 16.
Chief Superintendent Billy Beltran, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula director, identified the arrested NPA courier as Erlinda Sangcom Dalagon, 48, a resident of Barangay Conception, Kabasalan, Zamboanga Sibugay.
Dalagon was nabbed around 2:50 p.m. Wednesday, August 15, at the bus terminal in the village of Baybay, Liloy, Zamboanga del Norte.
Her arrest came after police received information that a suspected NPA member was sighted at the bus terminal.
Confiscated from Dalagon was a grenade that protruded while she was sorting her stuff in a sling bag.
Beltran said the suspect is a cousin of Ka Jerson Sangcom, an NPA commander under Secom Sendong. It was Sangcom who ordered Dalagon to deliver a package containing medicines and money to an NPA member who fled toward Labason, Zamboanga del Norte. (SunStar Philippines)
