Rimpy to SK: ‘Embrace your responsibilities’

FOURTH District Representative Juan Pablo “Rimpy” Bondoc recently reminded the officials of Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) in San Luis town to learn to embrace their responsibilities to be able to provide quality public service to people.

During his recent visit to San Luis, Bondoc cited the importance of commitment and respect to people, fellow elected officials and the rule of law in effectively performing their duties as public servants.

As elected youth leaders, Bondoc said SK officials are mandated to help provide better opportunities and pave a better future to their fellow youth and the future generations of the country.

“You applied for this job of providing public service and the people, being our boss, hired you. You have sworn to provide public service and to be able to do so, you must first embrace all you responsibilities and perform it wholeheartedly,” he said.

Bondoc further reminded that public service is not measured on tarpaulins and signages posted in public places, rather in the results of their works and their presence in every situation they are called for.

“As leaders, we must not stop in knowing and understanding the problems in our community and the people. Our common goal must be to provide solution for them,” he said.

Paying tribute to San Luis’ native hero, Bondoc cited the leadership shown by Luis Taruc, who led the Hukbong Bayan Laban sa Hapon and other organizations that fought for agrarian reform and other rights of farmers.

“As Luiseños, you have the blood of Ka Luis Taruc running in our body and I hope you can use him as inspiration in performing your duties as public servants,” he noted.
