P500-million sports facilities planned in Misamis Oriental

MISAMIS Oriental Governor Yevgeny Emano is eyeing to host the Palarong Pambansa 2022 even as he ask the Provincial Development Council (PDC) for a P500 million worth of pragmatic sports center project in the province.

Emano said hosting the Palarong Pambansa will bring economic benefits especially for the small and medium enterprises in the province and in the city.

The governor expressed his intention to host the Palarong Pambansa during the PDC meeting late last week.

During the meeting, Emano also laid down his plans to build a pragmatic sports center where sports events are held in separate venues within the province.

The capitol's top official has asked P500 million for the construction of the pragmatic sports center which will be included in the Annual Investment Plan.

"So I have a proposal. Kining pragmatic sports center dili angkonon sa usa lang ka munisipyo. Ang kada event dili pwede kung asa ra ka munisipyo. Example. Adunay usa ka munisipyo nga atong pilion kung asa ibutang ang oval. Naa pud usa ka munisipyo nga buhatan nato'g swimming pool nga olympic-sized ug uban pa," Emano said.

The governor said building the sports center for the province is part of his desires so the provincial government could accommodate big sports and major activities.

Aside from road projects, the governor is hankering that the pragmatic sports center will be the last major project before his last term ends.
