1,500 Kapampangans get ‘kalinga’ packs from SM Foundation

SM FOUNDATION Inc. through Operation Tulong Express served as one of the responders to flood-affected families by giving immediate assistance to communities in the form of relief goods.

As monsoon rains continued the past few weeks, SM Foundation Inc., Operation Tulong Express (SMFI-OPTE) in partnership with Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) sent out volunteers from SM City Pampanga and SM Savemore Market Apalit to distribute Kalinga packs which consists of bottled mineral water, rice, ready-to-eat meals, instant noodles and detergent bar soaps to flooded areas in its neighboring barangays benefiting 1,500 affected families.

In the City of San Fernando, SM Pampanga headed by Assistant Mall Managers Raquel Chua and Jerwin Jalandoni in partnership with Vice Mayor Jimmy Lazatin went on a house-to-house distribution of relief goods threading the thigh-high deep waters in the still flooded Barangay Sta. Monica and Barangay Pandaras.

While in other municipalities, SM in partnership with the local government and social workers of each municipality visited affected families in evacuation areas of Bacolor, Sto. Tomas, Apalit and Macabebe.
