Drug suspects killed in separate armed encounters

TWO suspected drug personalities were killed in an armed encounter with local authorities in separate anti-illegal drug operations in Arayat and Guagua towns.

Joint elements of the Provincial Drug Enforcement Group and Arayat Police Station launched a drug bust against alias “Den-Den” in Barangay Telapayong, Arayat town Friday dawn which led to an armed encounter after the suspect allegedly sensed that he was the target of a police operation.

Den-Den allegedly drew his gun and aimed at the poseur buyer but other officers were quick to fire at the suspect in an aim to disarm him.

A shootout ensued which led to the immediate death of Den-Den after sustaining gunshot wounds in different parts of his body.

His companion, whom police officers failed to identify, was able to escape and elude arrest using a motorcycle and remains at large as of Friday.

Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Central Luzon and personnel of Guagua Police Station also conducted a drug bust in Barangay Sta. Ursula against one alias “Eds” and his companion identified as John Doe.

During the course of the operation, the two suspects allegedly sensed that they were dealing with police officers which prompted Eds to draw a caliber .22 revolver and shot at authorities.

The police officer, who posed as buyer, then reportedly retaliated and opened fired at the suspects which resulted to the death of Eds.

Doe managed to flee away towards the direction of Minalin town using a motorcycle and evaded arrest as of Friday.
