DEFENDING champion MLC Warriors remain in contention despite taking the second spot after fourth round of the ongoing Davao City Duckpin Bowling Association (Dacidba)-organized 33rd Kadayawan Duckpin Bowling Tournament held at the Dover Mega Lanes along Bonifacio Street in Davao City.

Dacidba president Tim Ando, who was joined by tournament manager Ricky Perez Thursday in the Davao Sportswriters Association Forum held at The Annex of SM City Davao, said, "Malaki parin chance ng MLC Warriors kasi defending champion sila eh," Ando said.

Perez bared that the Sarabia Bowlers and MLC Warriors amassed identical 2,251 pinfalls as the bowlfest resumed Wednesday evening.

Sarabia Bowlers still kept the first place with a lesser handicap followed by MLC Warriors which landed on the second spot, followed by Diagold (2,201) and MLC Warriors 2 (2,177).

Ando also said that the final round of the six-round elimination will be tonight to determine who will advance in Sunday's step-the-ladder finals.

He added that the event serves as tune-up of city's bowlers for the national duckpin tournament here in April next year.

Davao City will defending its title for the fifth time. It last won the championship in Bacolod City last year. (ABM)
