Negros lawmaker to sponsor PMA passers from 6th District

NEGROS Occidental Sixth District Representative Mercedes Alvarez pledges sponsorship to whomever from her district that could pass the entrance examination of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA).

The PMA entrance exam is set on September 9 at STI West Negros University in Bacolod City.

Sixth District composed of Candoni, Hinoba-an, Ilog, Cauayan, Kabanklan City and Sipalay City.

The PMA, the country's premier military institution, known for producing quality leaders, is opening its doors to qualified individuals who have the potential to become part of the Cadet Corps Armed Forces of the Philippines and later on serve the AFP as a commissioned officer.

Qualifications for admission includes natural born Filipino citizen, physically fit and of good moral character, single and has never been married, must pass the PMA entrance examination, no administrative and criminal case, at least senior high school graduate on the reporting date (June 1, 2019) with at least 85% GPA, must be 5 ft. for both male and female and must have been born from June 1, 1997, to June 1, 2002.

Grade 12 students are already qualified to apply and take the exam provided they will graduate before the reporting date. In such case, they will submit their Grade 11 form 137/138.

The PMA Entrance Examination aims to measure the mental ability of applicants in the areas of Math, English and Reading and Abstract Reasoning, as stated in the PMA website.
