Tricycle driver, 4 students injured in road mishap

A DRIVER and four students were injured after the tricycle they were riding fell on a canal along the national highway of Barangay Alicante in E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental Thursday, August 16.

Wounded were tricycle driver Francisco Peñaranda, 48, of Barangay Tabigue; and four students aged 12 to 14, whose names were withheld.

Police records showed the tricycle was boarded by 10 students of E.B. Magalona National High School when Peñaranda lost control of the vehicle after one of its wheels got busted.

All of them fell on a canal and sustained minor injuries.

The five victims were brought to a hospital in Silay City.
