Eagles club conducts feeding program to street kids

SOME 60 street children have benefited from the feeding program initiated by the Kagayha-an Eagles Club last Saturday, August 11, in Divisoria, Cagayan de Oro City, as part of their 10th anniversary.

The conduct of the feeding program is part of Kagayha-an Eagles Club's continued commitment and socio-civic activities for the benefit of the less fortunate.

Apart from the feeding program, the organization also distributed slippers to the street kids.

“If you are a member of eagles, you're required to conduct a community service. Yung pagsali namin sa agila, dapat willing ka na to help each other sa less fortunate people (Once you join the eagles, you should be willing to help each other within the club to help the less fortunate people),” Jimmie Vincent Somo, president of Kagayha-an Eagles Club, said.

“Before you join our club, you must know na ganyan ang goal ng organization namin (that that is the goal of the organization),” he added.

Kagayha-an Eagles Club conducts at least one program per month, according to Somo. Within the year, Somo said they already did several activities that were helpful to the community such as Brigada Eskwela, donating chairs and books to schools, tree planting, medical mission, and among others.

He also shared that the funds used in their activities are from the members' donation.

The organization, the president shared, also accepts requests from the public. As soon as the request was approved by their board, the Kagayhaan Eagles Club president said they will immediately help.

“The fact na nagustuhan nila yung mga tulong namin kahit papaano. Pero hindi kami susuko hanggang nandito kami, patuloy yung pagtulong namin (The fact that people likes our work to help. But we won't stop until we are still here, we will continue to help),” Somo said.
