ITS ALL systems go for the Wushu tournament for a cause with thirteen heart-stopping bouts, which includes mixed martial arts (MMA) at the Cordillera Career Development College gym in Buyagan on February 6.
The event, spearheaded by the Alim Party-list will be for the benefit of Hezra Wakit, a one-year-old with a congenital heart disease and ventricular skeptical defect.
The tournament will also be for the benefit of the Save Our Street Children Foundation in cooperation with the Provincial Government of Benguet.
Leading the Wushu Xanda face-offs are Baguio kickboxing and Muay Thai champion Delver Mangaoile confronting former Muay Thai Philippine team member Armando Daligdig and Eliseo Valdez of wushu vitalite gym battling University of Baguio's Marlon Binmahat.
Also seeing action are: James Amistad of Contender's gym squaring off with Mountain Province pride Edmundo Ekid; Egly Diaz of the University of the Cordilleras testing the mettle of Johnson Kayachen of UB wushu.
Other events on tap are Jerome Wanawan of wushu Kayang gym fighting UB's Ric Myler Impil; Roldan Sangcha-en of Wushu Kayang facing Denver Aliswag of Mountain Province; Benito Amado also from Kayang gym testing Neilvin Sacpa of muay buran; and Jaimy Gayman of wushu Vitalite gym battling Jonas Chalupang of Mountain Province.
In the mixed martial arts eliminations, Contender's Keif Mangusan tries his luck against muayburan's Johny Bitaga with grizzled veteran Joseph Amurao of vitalite squaring off with Jeomar Pasiwat of UB.
Also out to vie for slots with Team Lakay are: Contender's Biondi Dayangadang slugging it out against muayburan's Junjun Benito; UC's Charlemagne Pakeoan battling muayboran's Satur Asiong; and Mountain Province's Starsky Kerchaten facing muayboran's Jose Lao-ing.
Competitions start at 6 p.m. with tickets pegged at P100.
