Vice mayor distributes relief goods to Fernandinos

CITY of San Fernando Vice Mayor Jimmy Lazatin Saturday went around different flooded barangays in this capital city distributing relief goods and checking on the status of flooded families.

Lazatin distributed relief packs that he and his team personally prepared in barangays San Nicolas and Pandaras as well as among households in the city's new public market area. Lazatin said that these families need aid as the recent heavy flooding caused by monsoon rains had made it hard for them to leave their homes.

“These barangays need all the help they can get. Also we need to review a plan to address the flooding problem in these barangays in order to create a concrete solution to solve if not reduce the level of flooding every year,” Lazatin said.

The vice mayor also checked on the status of the families in the said communities which need medical attention. He reminded residents of the dangers of living in flooded areas stressing the need for extra precaution against dengue and other diseases from dirty flooded water.

He also visited control channels and dikes in the city to check on the status of the flood control systems.
