Region 7’s most wanted arrested

CENTRAL Visayas’s most wanted personality who is facing multiple criminal charges was caught in a subdivision in Tanza, Cavite yesterday morning.

Operatives of Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO) and other units arrested Mario Edo Angac, a native of Sierra Bullones, Bohol.

Angac, 44, faces charges of qualified rape and frustrated homicide, crimes he allegedly committed against his stepdaughter.

Supt. Rene Kyamko, chief of CPPO Mobile Force Company, said the suspect had been hiding for six years before his arrest at 7:40 a.m. yesterday.

Some residents of Sierra Bullones reported to the police upon learning that Angac has been living in Tanza after committing the crime. A surveillance confirmed this report.

The suspect’s capture was based on the warrant of arrest issued by Carmen, Bohol Regional Trial Court Branch 51 Judge Patsita Sarmiento Gamutan. No bail was set for the qualified rape case.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government had set a cash reward of P130,000 for his capture.

Personnel of Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Cavite and Bohol Provincial Police Office also took part in the arrest of the suspect. (KAL)
