IN TIMES of calamities, clean water is one of the basic necessities for residents in the affected community, more so in a place like in the villages of Masantol where floodwaters have been lingering for almost two months now.

In Masantol, a low-lying town, the ClarkWater Corporation came to the rescue of flood victims who have no access to clean water due to flooding as deep as four feet in their area, particularly in coastal villages.

The ClarkWater Corporation brought its 7,000-liter capacity water tank to town to distribute free clean water to all needy Masantoleños who are still affected by flooding brought about by the combined downpour of rain and high tide.

Mayor Danilo Guintu, who personally sought the assistance of the company, said the water tank roamed around the Metro Plaza area and accommodated almost 5,000 families, including those in the coastal area.

“Masantoleños are very much in need of clean water because most of our communities, especially those in the coastal areas, are reliant on the traditional deep well water pump which are, unfortunately, submerged in floodwaters as of now,” he said.

On behalf of the beneficiaries, Guintu expressed his gratitude to ClarkWater for heeding their request of providing assistance to the people of Masantol.

“We are very grateful to ClarkWater for providing the much needed assistance in terms of clean water to the people of Masantol. With their generosity, they have relieved and saved Masantoleños from various ailments that may result from using dirty water,” he said.
