SHEER endurance and determination won for Jonathan Pido and Teresa Celmar the championships in the recently-concluded Hope 400 Ultramarathon held from war-torn Marawi City to Davao City that is celebrating the Kadayawan Festival.

Pido clocked a total of 82 hours, 32 minutes and 55 seconds to race past rivals Rhodelyn Salavia and Jose Sanchez who finished second and third, respectively.

Salavia registered 90:14.00 while Sanchez timed 92:14:20.

In the women's event, Teresa Calmer checked in at 93:43:16 over Irene Tan (100:23:35) and Azineth Balbutin (101:00:03) to clinch the women's crown.

Roel Ano of BBG Run Events said participants raced in the 400-kilometer event from Marawi City People's Park and Davao City People's Park.
