THE Philippine Red Cross (PRC) awarded Teleperformance Cebu IT Park with a Scroll of Honor during its blood donors recognition ceremony on July 31, in recognition of its sustained collaboration with the government agency’s blood services program.

The Scroll of Honor is one of the national awards given to recognize the spirit of volunteerism among PRC’s blood donors and institutional partners.

The conduct of bloodletting activities is a quarterly customary practice of Teleperformance through the Citizen of the World (COTW), its corporate social responsibility arm.

The COTW initiative complements the global blood donation campaign of the World Health Organization (WHO) whose focus this year is to increase awareness on the importance of timely access to safe blood as part of a comprehensive approach to prevent maternal deaths around the world.

PRC continuously organizes mass blood donation activities to provide blood supply at all times, in case of mass casualty incidents, disasters and other emergencies.

The Red Cross collects blood from voluntary, non-remunerated blood donors with their donations accounting to almost 50 percent share of the nation’s blood supply.
