MQCP unveils Ladislao S. David Building

The Mary the Queen College Pampanga (MQCP) yesterday unveiled its new three-story building to accommodate the growing number of high school and college students.

During its formal inauguration which coincided with the solemn Feast of Mary’s Assumption into heaven, MQCP Chairman Teresa David-Carlos shared that the launching of the facility, named after her father and MQCP founder, Ladislao Sibal David, is a momentous milestone for the whole institution and the David Family.

“This is a notable chapter for us, as we are truly committed to provide quality education and holistic formation to our students. We dedicate this new 15-classroom building to our father. This is our way of keeping his legacy alive,” she said.

“We believe that by giving him tribute, we continue to tell the story of how he really fulfilled his mission of serving the community, until he passed away last August 2016. He was really a selfless man and he, along with our Mom, shed blood, sweat and tears to put up this school to sincerely help our kabalens,” she added.

She furthered that the Ladislao S. David Building is only one of the many projects the MQCP has lined up within the next few years.

“Soon, we are going to develop this whole complex, as part of our proposed MQCP masterplan. We will add more rooms and modern facilities to better serve our students who are now over 3,000 in totality,” she noted.

“We are really steadfast to build more infrastructures that will be instrumental to the success of our future generation. Also, I want to share that we’re really inspired because of MQCP’s recent achievement of having been hailed as one of the top 20 best accountancy schools in the Philippines,” she continued.

She then reiterated the David Family’s commitment to share the blessing they receive through providing scholarships to poor but deserving students.

“For the last 16 years, we have successfully sponsored more than 1,500 scholars here at MQCP. Since the school’s inception, this has always been our way of putting into action our family’s mission statement which says: We are a grateful and loving family who aspires to create and share success in the service of the community,” she quipped.

Also part of yesterday’s event was the formal opening of MQCP’s new spacious cafeteria adjacent to the Ladislao Sibal David Building.

Guagua Mayor Dante Torres, who was also present during the significant occasion, said that he is grateful for the institution’s utmost commitment to provide quality education, not only for his constituents but also to Kapampangans from neighboring towns.

“I really admire and praise MQCP’s way of cultivating outstanding learners who not only excel academically but also spiritually. I think it’s one of the reasons why this school emerged and gained recognition, not just in our province but in the whole country,” he said.

“I want to thank the David Family for continuously sharing their time, effort, and resources to help our beloved town and whole of Pampanga, in general,” he added.
