WITH the growing potential of the coffee industry in Mindanao, Hiroia, a Japanese coffee maker company will be back in Davao.

Hiroia ended its operations in the city some two years ago.

For Christopher Domingo, business development manager from Conlins Coffee World, Incorporated, Mindanao has a rich potential for coffee businesses since the lands in the island region is known for growing coffee.

Conlins Coffee World is a Manila-based company geared towards distributing world-class coffee makers which serve most coffee shops around the country.

“The specialty market here in Mindanao is already growing. Before what people know is only the hot and bitter coffee, but now a lot of choices of flavor can be made),” Domingo said in an interview on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at the World Food Expo in SMX, SM Lanang Premier.

With Hiroia’s comeback, Domingo said coffee shops can now have more options for a better coffee maker in the city.

“Samantha,” a Japanese coffee maker from Hiroia serves to create different coffee flavors.

“Samantha’s made with an app. For people who would like to sell high volume of specialty coffee, Samantha will do it instead,” Domingo said.

Domingo said the natural resources the Davao region has is a great factor in contributing to the richness of coffee beans in the island region.

“You have the great Apo, together with the high elevations of Bukidnon, which are already reasons as to why nature also blessed this place in prosperity,” Domingo said.

And with Hiroia’s comeback, coffee will be served better than usual, Domingo assured Dabawenyos. (GAD)
