Pangan: Taking the cudgels for the seniors

PROSPECTIVE Vice Mayor and former mayor Marino "Boking" Morales is taking serious concern for the senior citizens of Mabalacat City.

Aside from their regular social pensions, Morales wishes to develop the property bought for the seniors at Filhomes Subdivision in Barangay Mabiga and a building to be built thereon for the exclusive use of the senior citizens.

This way, he says, they would have their own quarters not like that edifice at Barangay Sta. Ines where they are considered virtual squatters on the property owned by private individuals.

In his incumbency as long-serving mayor, Boking Morales has always put premium on the welfare of the elderly and their families, including their holistic healthcare, medicines and treatment.

Indeed, for Boking, the seniors still play an active role in the nation-building as their wisdom and experience serve as guide to the younger set and inspire them to live upright, with dignity and purpose.

The appointment of the president at Mabalacat City College, now held by Dr. Carmelita Pangan Sotto still hangs in the balance as her reappointment is still undecided.

Despite the achievements of Dr. Sotto, including the college's CHED recognition, which is a feat in itself, the reappointment of the incumbent president of the college remains uncertain.

It is indisputable that Mabalacat City College, which has improved significantly over the years since its founding in 2008, is now a significant player in the enhancement of the image of the city and its residents.

Allowed to give free tuition by law, Mabalacat City College is a bastion of achievers who have passed national exams and excelled in their

chosen fields of expertise.
